The School of Geopolitics and Public Policy at REVA University hosted a lecture by Prof. Sujata Ashwarya on "Minilateralism as Institutional Choice: Why Small Clubs Proliferate when Multilateralism Clogs", highlighted- when global multilateral institutions slow down or become ineffective, nations increasingly turn to Minilateralism ( small, flexible groupings of states) with shared interests. This talk explored why such “small clubs” are becoming the preferred institutional choice in contemporary geopolitics, offering speed, focus, and strategic alignment where large-scale 'Multilateralism' often stalls. This lecture provided a perspective to students on the rise of Minilateral frameworks and their implications for global governance and regional order..
