The Centre for International Law and Policy (CILP), School of Legal Studies, REVA University, serves as a premier academic and research platform dedicated to advancing scholarship, dialogue, and capacity-building in the fields of international law, global governance, and public policy. The Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA)

Established in 1943 by eminent Indian intellectuals led by Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru and H. N. Kunzru, the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) is one of India’s premier think tanks dedicated to the study of international relations and foreign policy. Originally constituted as a non-official, non-political, and non-profit organisation under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, ICWA was accorded the status of an Institution of National Importance by an Act of Parliament in 2001. The Vice President of India serves as its ex-officio President.

ICWA has played a historic role in shaping intellectual discourse on global affairs. Landmark events such as the Asian Relations Conference 1947, convened under the leadership of Sarojini Naidu, and the conference on “United Nations and the New World Order” (1994) brought together distinguished global scholars and policymakers. The Council’s headquarters, Sapru House in New Delhi, has long served as a hub for dialogue, frequently visited by Jawaharlal Nehru and other leading intellectuals engaged in shaping India’s foreign policy.

Today, ICWA continues to advance rigorous policy research through its in-house scholars and a wide network of experts. The Council also publishes the renowned journal India Quarterly and maintains a rich library, contributing significantly to scholarship in international affairs.

The Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space, USA

The Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space (GN) is an international peace and advocacy organization established in 1992 to promote the peaceful, sustainable, and responsible use of outer space. The Network works to raise global awareness about the growing challenges associated with the militarization and weaponization of space, the deployment of nuclear power in space missions, environmental concerns arising from increasing satellite launches, and the need to preserve outer space as a global commons for peaceful purposes.

Through research, public education, international dialogue, conferences, publications, and collaboration with academic institutions, civil society organizations, and policymakers, the Global Network advocates for strengthening international legal frameworks governing outer space. It supports initiatives aimed at preventing an arms race in space, promoting transparency in space governance, encouraging peaceful international cooperation, and advancing responsible space policies consistent with the principles of the Outer Space Treaty (1967).

The Global Network also promotes informed discussions on the broader implications of emerging space technologies, including satellite infrastructure, cyber security, environmental sustainability, and international security. By encouraging evidence-based research and global cooperation, the Network contributes to ongoing efforts to ensure that outer space remains a domain dedicated to peace, scientific advancement, sustainable development, and the collective benefit of humanity.
