Shaping the Future of Maritime Governance
The maritime sector is undergoing a profound transformation driven by technological innovation, environmental imperatives, evolving regulatory frameworks, geopolitical developments, and the growing significance of the blue economy. Contemporary challenges such as sustainable shipping, marine biodiversity conservation, maritime security, seabed governance, digitalisation of shipping operations, marine pollution, and protection of seafarers’ rights require interdisciplinary engagement and collaborative policy responses.
The Conference seeks to provide a global platform for academicians, researchers, policymakers, legal practitioners, industry professionals, international organisations, and students to engage in meaningful dialogue on emerging issues in maritime law, policy, governance, and sustainability. It aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas, foster collaborative research, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for addressing pressing maritime challenges.
Aligned with the objectives of Maritime India Vision 2030, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and international efforts towards sustainable ocean governance, the Conference encourages critical discussions on the future of maritime regulation and the role of law and policy in promoting a safe, secure, resilient, and sustainable maritime sector. Through keynote addresses, technical sessions, and paper presentations, the Conference aspires to strengthen academic discourse and bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice in shaping the future of global maritime governance.
