Research Project

Rare earth and transition metal-ion doped phosphors and chalcogenide glasses constitute a special class of materials due to their intriguing tunable properties. The strategic incorporation of these metal-ion dopants allows for significant alterations in photoluminescence (PL) characteristics and electrical resistivity. This tunability is a critical requirement for advancing applications in solid-state lighting (LEDs) and thermoelectric devices. Furthermore, I am currently expanding this research paradigm to explore the potential of these modified materials, particularly chalcogenide-based systems and energy storage applications. Their unique structural properties show promise for developing novel electrodes or solid electrolytes in next-generation batteries and supercapacitors. My ongoing work is therefore focused on progressing in these interconnected fields of optoelectronics, thermoelectric, and energy storage.
