Dr. H. Nagarajaiah’s research focuses on organic synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, and the development of functional organic molecules for applications in sensing and medicinal chemistry. His work involves the design and synthesis of novel heterocyclic scaffolds such as benzimidazoles, thiazoles, and quinoxalines using green and efficient synthetic methodologies including multi-component and mechanochemical reactions. He explores the optical, electrochemical, and biological properties of these compounds to develop potential metal-ion sensors and bioactive agents. His research also integrates crystallographic and analytical studies to establish structure–property correlations and enhance the functional performance of synthesized molecules. Supported by research funding from agencies like DST-SERB, Dr. Nagarajaiah’s work aims to bridge synthetic organic chemistry with practical applications in materials and health sciences.
